The adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Robot Jim


NewSouth Books, Inc. wants to literally rewrite history by replacing the “N-word” with the word “Slave” in revised copies of the “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” But, why stop there, say Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine, who want to substitute the “R word” for the “N-word” in their reimagining of the Mark Twain classic. Why? Well the word slave refers to an uncomfortable part of our nations history. Besides, who wouldn't want to read the thrilling and futuristically-inoffensive tale of a rascally boy and his run-away robot floating along the Mississippi River.
